How SignWren works
This is the flow we're building. Three steps, and the people signing never need an account.
Upload your PDF
A contract, a quote, an offer letter, a lease. If you can save it as a PDF, you can send it.
Mark who signs where
Drop signature, date and text fields on the page and give each one to a person. Set an order if one person has to sign before the next.
Send it and get it back sealed
Each person gets a link by email and signs in their browser. When the last one signs, everyone receives the finished PDF.
What you'll get back when everyone has signed
A signature is only as good as the proof around it. If a client ever says "I never signed that", the finished file should answer them without you digging through old emails. Here's what we're building into every completed document.
- A sealed PDF. The finished file will carry a digital seal. Change a single character after signing and a PDF reader that checks signatures, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, will flag the signature as no longer valid. How to check a signed PDF
- An audit trail. A record of who it was sent to, when each person opened it and signed, from which IP address and browser, plus a fingerprint of the document. What an audit trail records

What is SignWren?
SignWren is an electronic signature app for small businesses, freelancers and small teams, launching soon. Are electronic signatures legally binding in the US?
For most business documents, yes. The federal ESIGN Act and the state laws based on the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act say a signature or contract cannot be denied legal effect just because it is electronic. A short list of documents is excluded, such as wills and certain court and family-law papers.
Does SignWren give legal advice or notarize documents?
No. SignWren is software for signing documents electronically. It is not a law firm, it does not give legal advice, and it is not a notary service.
Will the people signing need a SignWren account?
No. In the version we are building, each signer gets a link by email and signs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install.
What will SignWren cost?
We plan to offer a free plan for occasional signing and paid plans for businesses that send more. Final prices will be published on the pricing page before launch, and waitlist members will hear first.
When does SignWren launch?
There is no public launch date yet. People on the waitlist get access first, and we will email them before anyone else.
